All of ROSI's dependencies are already taken care of with the ROSI installer! You don't need to install anything else.

Previously users were required to install FFMPEG separately, but this is no longer necessary.

In short, the LTS version of ROSI is the previous major release (v2.x.x) which only gets yt-dlp updates, bug fixes, and security updates. No new features.

What is the LTS version?

The "Hook into Web Browser" option is used when a video is harder to download through yt-dlp's own methods. This option allows ROSI/YT-DLP to use the cookies from your web browser to assist in downloading.

  • On Windows: The choices of web browsers are locked only to Firefox due to a new Chromium Windows update.
  • On MacOS or Linux: Users will have the options of Chromium-based browsers along with Firefox.
