Frequently Asked Questions
All of ROSI's dependencies are already taken care of with the ROSI installer! You don't need to install anything else.
Previously users were required to install FFMPEG separately, but this is no longer necessary.
Main ROSI is currently v4.x with the latest UI, themes, and bundled FFmpeg. ROSI-LTS stays on v3.x with yt-dlp updates and bug fixes only; it requires system FFmpeg.
What is the LTS version? ROSI-LTS FAQYes. Main ROSI is on the Microsoft Store. Store builds use the same codebase with store-specific packaging. There is no LTS listing on the Store.
Microsoft StoreOfficial builds bundle FFmpeg per platform. You can set a custom FFmpeg path in Settings to override the bundled binary.
The "Hook into Web Browser" option is used when a video is harder to download through yt-dlp's own methods. This option allows ROSI/YT-DLP to use the cookies from your web browser to assist in downloading.
- On Windows: The choices of web browsers are locked only to Firefox due to a new Chromium Windows update.
- On MacOS or Linux: Users will have the options of Chromium-based browsers along with Firefox.
