Getting Started with ROSI-LTS

Install and use ROSI-LTS (v3.x): the long-term support branch with yt-dlp updates and bug fixes only.

What is ROSI-LTS?

ROSI-LTS is the long-term support branch based on ROSI v3.x. It receives yt-dlp updates, bug fixes, and security patches; it does not receive new features from the current ROSI v4 line.

Who should use LTS?

  • You prefer the v3 look and workflow.
  • You want a stable, battle-tested release without major UI changes.
  • You are not ready to move to ROSI v4 yet.

Install side-by-side with ROSI v4

ROSI-LTS installs to a different directory than main ROSI, so you can run both versions on the same machine without sharing config or download data.

FFmpeg requirement

Unlike main ROSI, LTS does not bundle FFmpeg. You must install FFmpeg and ensure ffmpeg is available in your system PATH before downloading media that needs transcoding or merging.
