Blueshift Troubleshooting

Planned troubleshooting for Blueshift after it ships on the Mac App Store.

Coming soon

Blueshift is not released and is not in public beta. The steps below will apply after the Mac App Store listing ships.

Unlock Editing does nothing, or no products appear

  • Confirm you are online; StoreKit needs network access.
  • Use Restore Purchases if you already bought Pro on this Apple Account.
  • On a TestFlight or fresh install, wait for products to finish loading. An empty product list means the App Store has not offered those IAP products yet.
  • Quit and reopen Blueshift after a purchase is approved (Ask to Buy / pending).

Save stays disabled

  • Saving requires Blueshift Pro.
  • For an already-saved file, Save enables after an edit. For a new untitled document, Save should open the save panel once Pro is unlocked.
  • If the PDF forbids page changes or other edits, Blueshift will explain the restriction instead of saving a forbidden change.

Password prompt canceled and I cannot reopen it

Use Enter Password… on the locked document window. Closing and reopening the file also shows the prompt again.

Copy, print, or page edits are blocked

The PDF’s own permission flags may disallow copying, printing, commenting, form filling, or assembly. Blueshift enforces those flags. Check Document Information (⌘I) and the restriction notice in the window.

Annotations or form values did not stick after save

  • Confirm the document was marked edited (Save was enabled) and the save succeeded.
  • Unsupported annotation types are preserved but not editable in Blueshift.
  • Form choice and button fields need a completed click; text fields mark dirty as you type.

Split or extract failed partway

Split writes into a temporary folder first. If replacement fails, Blueshift tries to restore any files it backed up. Choose a writable folder and try again.

Still stuck?

See Support, the FAQ, or contact support. Mention that you are asking about the upcoming Blueshift release if you do not have the app yet.
