Blueshift Privacy Policy

Learn how Blueshift will handle your PDFs and protect your privacy. The app is coming soon.

Coming soon

Blueshift is not on the Mac App Store yet and is not in public beta. This policy describes how the shipping app is designed to handle data.

Local documents, no telemetry

Blueshift does not collect, store, or transmit your PDFs, filenames, search text, passwords, analytics, usage events, or device identifiers. Document processing stays on your Mac.

Proprietary Software Notice

Unlike many other Rosie.run utilities which are open source, Blueshift is proprietary closed-source commercial software. Blueshift still runs inside the macOS App Sandbox and follows Mac App Store security requirements.

How Documents Are Processed

Blueshift uses Apple PDFKit to open, display, edit, and save PDF files you choose.

  • Local processing only: Viewing, page edits, annotations, form filling, search, and save happen on your Mac.
  • No upload: Blueshift does not send document contents, filenames, or passwords to Rosie.run or any other server.
  • Passwords stay in memory: When you unlock a password-protected PDF, the password is held only for the unlock attempt and session. It is not written to preferences, logs, or disk by Blueshift.
  • Preferences stay on device: Sidebar and similar settings use standard macOS UserDefaults on your Mac.

What Blueshift Does Not Collect

  • No analytics, advertising, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs in the app.
  • No accounts or sign-in inside Blueshift.
  • No cloud sync or remote document processing.
  • No tracking across apps or websites.

Network Connectivity

Blueshift’s App Sandbox network access is used only for App Store in-app purchases through Apple StoreKit. Purchases and restorations are handled by Apple; Blueshift does not receive your payment card details.

Tapping Privacy Policy or Support opens your default browser. No document data is included in those requests.

When Blueshift ships, app updates will be handled through the Mac App Store.

Children

Blueshift does not knowingly collect personal data from children. The app does not collect personal data from anyone.

Summary

Your PDFs stay on your Mac. Blueshift has no analytics, no cloud document pipeline, and no account system.
