No. Download the installer for your platform and run it. All runtime dependencies are included.

Any provider with an S3-compatible API should work: AWS S3, MinIO, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, and others. Set the correct endpoint URL and signing options for your provider.

Credentials are encrypted locally on your device using AES-GCM with PBKDF2 key derivation in the Rust backend. They are not sent to Rosie.run.

By default, the app pings GitHub on startup to see if a newer release exists and may download it with your confirmation. Turn this off in Settings if you prefer manual updates.
